“It’s a wonderful weekend!” Vioski was thrilled to be at WantedDesign in NYC, a platform which supports American design and fosters the international design community at various events throughout the year. Over 16,000 people attended WantedDesign, and its Manhattan event was held at the Terminal Building, a short walk from the Javits Center and other NYC Design events.
According to Wanted, the new U.S. Design Landscape includes a “birth of new companies, based across the U.S., and focused on reviving the local ‘making’ industry,…ready to expand nationally and internationally.”
Vioski would like to thank Troy Hanson and Megan Reilly, the co-founders of WestEdge, who invited our “very comfortable” Tuulla Chair and Omni Table to their space. Tuulla saw a lot of action as attendees entered the WestEdge Instagram contest for a weekend giveaway at WestEdge – Santa Monica, Oct. 22-25, 2015.
Honorees at WantedDesign included Egg Collective, recipient of the 2015 American Design Honors and Kjartan Oskarsson, winner of Launch Pad 2015, a showcase of 25 prototypes and new brand works. The jury for Launch Pad included Jaime Derringer, Marva Griffin Wilshire, Giulio Cappellini, Greg Keffer, Noah Schwarz and Paul Makovsky. Overall, WantedDesign was an interactive and engaging collaboration of some of the most creative individuals, entrepreneurs and companies that influence the future of design.
And there’s more design in this week! West Edge San Francisco partners with SF Design Week to present SF DESIGN WEEK HUB at Pier 27 June 4-5. This venue will offer an exhibition of contemporary design, and serve as the welcome destination and gathering spot for SFDW, including its official Opening Night Party. Collaboration with SFDW, running since 2006, provides access to a built-in audience of leading international architects, designers and design aficionados converging upon SF this June.
